David Byers

David Byers is the Spill Response Manager for the Washington State Department of Ecology, managing 24-hour response operations from six regional offices statewide. He oversees Ecology's statewide spill response activities to over 3,800 oil, hazardous materials, and clandestine drug labs reported each year. In addition to duties as State On-Scene Coordinator, David serves as Ecology's representative on the State Committee on Homeland Security and is Ecology's State Agency Disaster Liaison to the State Emergency Operations Center at Camp Murray. David also currently serves as the Chief of Operations for the North Olympia Fire Department where he is responsible for directing emergency fire and medical and marine rescue operations.
