Dr. Hass is an outreach and education specialist for the Spills Program in the Washington State Department of Ecology. He is a member of Ecology's Social Media Think Tank and that agency's lead advisor for Twitter, he also serves on the Northwest Area Committee's Communication and Public Outreach Workgroup. With this talk he hopes to raise awareness of the best uses of social media during spill responses, and discuss ways to integrate such communications tools into the unified command structure.
