William Conner, PhD
Chief, Emergency Response Division
NOAA Office of Response & Restoration

Dr. Conner has worked in marine pollution ecology for more than 30 years. Since 2005, he has served as the Chief of the Emergency Response Division, the primary group within NOAA for providing scientific support to oil spill response. Previously, Dr. Conner worked in NOAA's natural resource damage assessment program as the Chief of the Damage Assessment Center. Dr. Conner received a Ph.D. in marine ecology from the University of South Florida. He has also worked on taxonomy of marine worms at the Smithsonian Institution and as an environmental scientist at the MITRE Corporation in McLean, Virginia.
