Alan Allen Oil Spill Specialist Spiltec
Mr. Al Allen has over 40 years experience as a technical advisor and field supervisor involving hundreds of oil spills around the world. He has developed strategies, operational procedures and specialized equipment for the prevention, surveillance and control of oil spills. Al has also conducted many hundreds of oil spill training courses under arctic, temperate and tropical conditions. His assignments have spanned more than 65 countries, providing training and operational guidance for government and industry organizations in the use of mechanical cleanup, the application of chemical dispersants, and the use of controlled burning. Al has spent over 32 years working in Alaska and other cold climates managing oil spill cleanup operations, serving as an advisor to oil industry and regulatory organizations, and conducting offshore and onshore spill prevention, control and research programs. His assignments have included the preparation of oil spill contingency plans, assistance with federal and state policies, participation in native cultural awareness and educational programs, and the design and provision of training courses for offshore exploration and production facilities, pipelines, marine terminals and tanker operations.
